Entry details for the up and coming 2021/2022 Western Ranges Zone Championships will be advised when known. Usually held in Nov/Dec 2021.

The Zone Championships is the start of the LANSW Championship events for the season. Athletes from the U/7 to U/11 age group are eligible to enter a maximum of four events over the competition, while athletes from the U/12 to U/17 age groups can compete in a maximum of six events. Athletes compete against members from the other centres within the zone. The first six competitors in the U/8’s and up from each event will qualify for the Regional Championships held in February. The first three athletes in the U/7 age group will receive a medal in each event.

The following are the events on offer in each age group

U/7:  50m, 70m, 100m, 200m, 500m Pack Start, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put.

U/8: 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 700m Pack Start, 60m Hurdles, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put.

U/9: 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 700m Walk, 60m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put.

U/10: 70m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1100m Walk, 60m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put.

U/11: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 1100m Walk, 80m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin

U/12: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m 1500m Walk, 80m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin.

U/13: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 1500m Walk, 80m Hurdles,  200m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin.

U/14: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 1500m Walk, 80m Hurdles(Girls),90m Hurdles(Boys),  200m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin.

U/15: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 1500m Walk, 90m Hurdles(Girls),100m Hurdles(Boys),  300m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin.

U/17: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 1500m Walk, 100m Hurdles(Girls),110m Hurdles(Boys),  300m Hurdles, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Javelin.

The carnival is a timed program, start times are supplied for all events. Athletes are expected to report to the marshalling area 20 minutes prior to their event. The final timed carnival program will be available just prior to the event.
